The Jigawa State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has said it arrested 577 suspects for various drug-related offences and seized 1,944.389 kg of psychoactive substances.

The NDLEA State Commander, Hassan Kabaju Katangana, disclosed this while briefing journalists on the command’s achievements in 2025.

According to him, “The command has arrested 577 suspects and also seized 1,944.389 kg of psychoactive substances”.

He said the command secured 136 convictions at the Federal High Court, Dutse, while 15 cases are still pending.

Kabaju added that the command also counselled 558 persons, comprising 533 males and 25 females.

He attributed the arrests to the combined efforts of sister security agencies, traditional rulers, and members of the public.

Kabaju, who commended the Jigawa State Government for its efforts towards ensuring a drug-free society, further noted that some of the challenges facing the command include a lack of operational vehicles, as well as inadequate administrative and operational facilities.
