A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Emmanuel Ogidi, has stated why those who defected from the party will still return to the party.
Speaking during an interview on Arise Television monitored by DAILY POST on Thursday, Ogidi said they will come back because they have the soul of the PDP in their hearts.
He also said that the crisis of the party was self-inflicted, adding that they had been able to expel the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, and his allies.
According to him, the base of the PDP remains strong, stressing the party’s focus is not to grab power but to give Nigeria good governance.
“They have taken away some of our people but I can tell you that those people they took away from us will still come back because they still have the soul of PDP in their hearts.
“PDP is the only truly representation of the Federal Government and democracy. Just look at the life span of PDP. We beat our chest and say that ince 1999 we have retained our vision for Nigeria
“We lost some members but we didn’t lose the base of the party. The base is still strong and it’s the people at the grassroots. It’s only the top that some of them are moving and of course it’s expected because this APC government, Wike and his group have had a heavy blow on us but thank God we are recovering from that blow and we sent it back to them,” he said.
