Army Goes For Massive Troop Deployment Against Terrorists

Published:

The Chief of Army of Staff (COAS), Lt-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, has said the Nigerian Army will deploy more troops nationwide to make Nigeria safer for all law-abiding citizens.

He promised that the Army would do everything humanly possible to stem the tide of terrorists’ attacks in Niger State and other parts of Nigeria.

Shaibu spoke yesterday in Minna, the Niger State capital, at the opening of the 2026 Doctrine and Training Conference at the Training and Doctrine Command of the Nigeria Army (TRADOC).

He said the Army was committed to implementing the directive of President Bola Tinubu, adding that, “We will massively do more deployments across the country towards achieving our goal of making Nigeria safer for all law-abiding citizens.

“The President had since directed that we should ensure the recent waves of attacks in Niger State and other parts of the country are curtailed; we would also ensure that all the terrorists behind these dastardly attacks are apprehended and brought to book,” Shaibu declared

He reiterated that the Nigerian Army was leveraging technology to boost its operational capabilities across the country.

At the conference, he stated that it aimed to assess and review the existing doctrinal and training efforts of the Nigerian Army, to consolidate the gains made in 2025 for a more robust training year in 2026.

The commander, TRADOC, Maj-Gen. Peter Malla, said that the conference marked the commencement of the training institutions for 2026 as it provided a robust and intellectual platform for engagements.
