Dangote Refinery debunks shutting down rumours

Published:

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has dismissed reports suggesting it has shut down operations, describing the claims as false and misleading.

In a press statement issued on Monday, the company said production at the refinery remains stable, ongoing, and uninterrupted.

According to the company, the refinery has daily supply of between 40 and 50 million litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) expected to continue through January and February, subject to market demand.

The refinery disclosed that on January 4, it produced 50 million litres of PMS and successfully evacuated 48 million litres, adding that its current stock levels are sufficient to cover more than 20 days of national fuel consumption.

According to the management, routine maintenance being carried out on selected units has no impact on overall output, stressing that PMS, diesel, and Jet A-1 production continues seamlessly through fully operational processing units.

Dangote Refinery also maintained that its ex-gantry price remains N699 per litre, available to all marketers and bulk consumers without discrimination, while urging stakeholders to patronise locally refined, high-quality petroleum products.
