Police in Adamawa begins investigation into death of man found hanging on tree

Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command are investigating the case of the lifeless body of a man found hanging from a tree.

The Command said Monday that its officials are working on the “case of sudden and unnatural death reported on 23rd March, 2026, following the discovery of a lifeless body hanging on a tree at the foothills of Bagale Mountain, Girei Local Government Area.”

The command, in a statement passed to newsmen, said the victim, identified as Ahmed Mohammed, male, 46 years, of Anguwan Hona, was taken to the Cottage Hospital in Girei where he was confirmed dead.

“Investigation is currently ongoing to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death,” the command said in the statement signed by police spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje.

“The Command calls on members of the public with useful information to come forward and assist the Police in the ongoing investigation,” Nguroje appealed.
