The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested twelve suspected members of an armed robbery syndicate allegedly terrorizing Hadejia and its surrounding communities.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, disclosed in a statement issued on Monday.
He said, the suspects were apprehended on June 14, 2026, following a tip-off received by operatives attached to ‘B’ Division, Hadejia.
According to the police, the arrests were made during a coordinated operation targeting criminal activities in the area.
He said , investigations revealed that the suspects are linked to a notorious criminal gang led by a suspect popularly known as “Alin Mai,” believed to be responsible for a series of crimes including armed robbery, culpable homicide, cattle rustling, theft, and receiving stolen property.
SP. Shiisu said, some of the Items recovered during the operation include a Mercedes Benz vehicle, three motorcycles, motorcycle spare parts, master keys, an invoice receipt, a bunch of arrows, hand gloves, a bag of cement, and an MP3 player.
He said the suspects, along with the recovered exhibits, have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Dutse for further investigation.
He added that upon completion of the investigation, the suspects will be charged to court in accordance with the law.
