The coordinator of the Kwara South Joint Security Watch, Elder Olaitan Oyin-Zubair, has warned residents of the areas about the potential threat and urged them to cooperate with security agencies.
Oyin- Zubair raised the alarm in a letter titled: “Urgent: Imminent Terrorist Threats Alert,” and dated March 21, 2026 , which he addressed to the state commissioner of police and copied the chairmen of Ifelodun, Irepodun and Isin local government areas.
The letter reads, ” We’re bringing to your attention reports of potential security threats targeting Kwara on March 23 and possible attacks on Yorubaland from March 28th post-Ramadan.
” We urge immediate action and heightened vigilance to protect citizens. The people are anxious and need reassurance of their safety. Awaiting your prompt response and action.
“Security agencies have been proactive. More soldiers and para military forces have been deployed across Kwara South and particularly the hotspots,” Oyin- Zubair told our reporter via WhatsApp message.
