The Israel Defense Forces have alleged that Iran has deployed a long-range missile capable of reaching parts of Europe, marking what it described as the first such use since the start of its ongoing military operation.
In a statement posted on X on Saturday, the Israeli military said the missile has an estimated range of about 4,000 kilometres, placing several cities across Europe, Asia and Africa within reach.
“The Iranian terrorist regime launched a long-range missile for the first time since the start of Operation Roaring Lion that could reach a distance of ~4,000 km,” IDF sad.
It warned that the development signals an expansion of Iran’s strike capability beyond the Middle East.
The military recalled that during a previous operation in June 2025, it had disclosed intelligence suggesting that Iran was working to develop missiles with similar range.
According to the statement, those claims were denied at the time by Tehran.
Israel maintained that the latest development reinforces its long-standing position that Iran’s missile programme poses a broader international security threat.
It also alleged that Iran has carried out attacks across multiple countries in the region.
Iran has not issued an official response to the latest claims.
