Chairman, House of Representatives committee on Works, Akin Alabi, has claimed that former Vice President, Abubakar Atiku and former Anambra governor, Peter Obi are confused politicians who have no idea about Nigerian economy.
Alabi who represents Egbeda/Ona Ara federal constituency on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC, alleged that the duo cannot perform better than what President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is doing.
The lawmaker made these assertions while speaking during the launch of a grassroots support group christened “Friends of Akin Alabi for Tinubu 2027” on Saturday in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
On the forthcoming 2027 presidential election, Alabu said Atiku and Obi or any other candidates cannot withstand Tinubu.
He added that none of them can perform better than the current President.
Alabi who described Atiku and Obi as confused politicians noted that they have no idea about the Nigerian economy.
He said, “For those that understands economy, there is micro and macro economic policies. Tinubu said no more subsidy. He is trying to restructure the economy.
“Virtually, all the presidential candidates in 2023 said they will remove subsidy. They all said that they are going to remove fuel subsidy, they all said that they are going to float the naira. Asiwaju has been doing that. Everybody that understands the economy will know that Nigeria’s economy is on the track.
“The question is that what do they have? They said they are going to do what the president is doing and the President is doing it and they are confused. When it comes to issue -based campaigns, they will not have anything to say. It is on camera, they cannot deny it.
“We will play it for them because it is on camera. Now, they will say how much is a Kongo of gaari, because they don’t know anything about the economy. What they will just say is beer parlor politics, that is what they will say. But the good thing about it is that they said that they will do the same thing that Asiwaju is doing. What Tinubu is doing is the right thing. They will do the same thing. At this time, that is the right thing to do and he is doing it”.
