Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has called on Muslims to sustain the values of unity, compassion and generosity beyond the Ramadan period, while assuring grieving families of efforts to restore peace and security in the state.
The governor made the call on Friday after observing the Eid-el-Fitr prayer at Batagarawa Mosque, where he addressed journalists.
Radda described Eid-el-Fitr as a period of reflection and celebration, urging residents to uphold virtues such as kindness, patience and fairness in their daily lives to promote social harmony.
He commended residents for their resilience and cooperation, as well as security agencies and community members for their roles in maintaining peace across the state.
The governor acknowledged that the celebration comes amid renewed security challenges, noting that some families are still mourning loved ones lost to recent attacks.
“We deeply sympathise with families who have lost their loved ones, and we want to assure them that efforts are ongoing to bring an end to these unfortunate incidents,” he said.
Radda expressed optimism that improved security measures would enable residents to celebrate future festivals in peace and safety, while reaffirming his administration’s commitment to restoring stability in the state.
He also urged citizens to continue supporting government efforts and remain united in the pursuit of peace and development.
