The Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Enforcement Unit (Taskforce) has dismissed as false a bribery allegation in the media.
An online platform had reported that the taskforce officials towed a vehicle in Ijesha area of the state and demanded N250,000 bribe for its release.
The agency’s spokesman, Mr. Gbadeyan Abdulraheem, in a statement on Wednesday night said the officials did not tow any vehicle from the Ijesha area to its Alausa yard.
Abdulraheem described the report as misleading and malicious.
He said : “The owner of the vehicle confirmed that it was not in the custody of the taskforce but elsewhere.”
