Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen bagged an assist as Galatasaray sealed a 1-0 first-leg victory over Liverpool in their Champions League round of 16 clash on Tuesday night.
Osimhen assisted Mario Lemina’s header for a seventh-minute winner – the 10th goal Arne Slot’s side have conceded from corners this season.
The Nigerian striker thought he had made it 2-0 after a mistake by Ibrahima Konate, but the close-range effort was ruled out after Baris Alper Yilmaz was deemed to be offside in the build-up.
Liverpool thought they had equalised in the 70th minute after the ball was bundled over the line from Dominik Szoboszlai’s corner, but that was also ruled out following a lengthy check with the VAR.
