Kogi Police Chief Assures Residents Of Safety

The commissioner of police in Kogi State, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, has assured the residents of safety during and after the Christmas celebrations.

In a statement by CSP William Ovye Aya, police public relations officer, the CP said the command has put in place effective security measures across the state to protect life and property before, during, and after the festive period.

He said the measures included the deployment of adequate police personnel, enhanced patrols, intelligence-led operations, visibility policing and strategic positioning of officers at worship centres, recreational areas, major highways, markets, and public places.

The commissioner oextended Christmas greetings to the people of the state and wished them a peaceful, joyous and hitch-free Christmas celebration.

“Personnel from conventional police units, Police Mobile Force (PMF), Motor Traffic Department, Safer Highway Patrol, and other tactical formations have been mobilized to maintain law and order, prevent criminal activities, and ensure a peaceful celebration,” the statement said.

He charged officers to conduct themselves professionally, remain courteous, and be firm but civil.

In addition, the CP urged residents to be law-abiding and vigilant, and report any suspicious movement to law enforcement agencies.

He called for collaboration in protecting places of worship and community vigilance, urging them to report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through emergency channels.

“The Kogi State Police Command remains committed to protecting lives and property and will sustain proactive policing strategies for a peaceful Christmas.
