The arrests, which took place on December 14, 2025, were carried out by operatives of the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Squad and other tactical units, following actionable intelligence, the police said.

According to a statement issued on Thursday by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, four of the suspects were apprehended at Rahma Round in Kiru local government area after police operatives cordoned off the area on the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori.

“One of the suspects, Shafiu Ibrahim, 25, of Auchanawa Village, Ikara LGA of Kaduna State, confessed to being a member of a kidnapping gang and to his involvement in a series of cattle rustling incidents,” the statement said.

A TVS model motorcycle was recovered from Ibrahim, while the three other suspects arrested alongside him are currently under investigation for various felonious offences.
