Former deputy governor emerges as APC chairman in Oyo

A former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Chief Moses Adeyemo, on Tuesday emerged as the new chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

Adeyemo was unanimously adopted as a consensus candidate at the party’s state congress held at the Liberty Stadium, Ibadan.

The new chairman hails from Igboho in the Oke Ogun Zone, Orelope Local Government Area of the state.

He was the deputy governor during  the late Abiola Ajimobi’s administration from 2011 to 2019.

Adeyemo was announced by a former APC National Youth Leader, Afeez Bolaji, at the end of the exercise.

Bolaji was also the Secretary of the party’s ad hoc zoning committee.

Among the elected executive committee members is Olawale Sadare, who was returned as the party’s publicity secretary.

The state congress followed the successful ward and local government congresses held on February 18 and February 21, respectively, both of which were decided by consensus.
