Zinox Technologies and TD Africa have formalised a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening Africa’s technology ecosystem and expanding access to locally manufactured technology solutions across the continent.
The partnership was officially announced on Friday at a press conference attended by industry stakeholders, journalists and partners from both organisations. The collaboration is expected to enhance the distribution and availability of indigenous technology products while promoting digital inclusion and technological self-reliance in Africa.
Under the agreement, Zinox Technologies, widely regarded as Sub-Saharan Africa’s leading indigenous technology manufacturer, will leverage TD Africa’s extensive distribution network, which spans 43 African countries. TD Africa is known for distributing global brands such as HP, Microsoft, Dell and Cisco.
Speaking at the event, Coordinating Managing Director of TD Africa, Chioma Chimere, described the partnership as a significant milestone for the continent’s technology industry.
“Today represents a moment where Africa meets Africa,” she said, noting that Zinox stands out as an indigenous manufacturer that designs products specifically to address local challenges. She added that the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to delivering technology solutions tailored to African realities.
Executive Director and Human Resources Head at Zinox Technologies, Chioma Nwoke, said the partnership aligns with the company’s founding vision of creating dependable technology standards in Africa. According to her, the agreement goes beyond commercial interests and extends to digital education, enterprise development and nation-building.
“This partnership sends a strong signal that African technology can compete, innovate and lead,” she said.
Providing further insight into the company’s operations, Head of Research and Development at Zinox, Moses Edoh, highlighted the firm’s track record in innovation. He noted that Zinox was the first company to introduce hybrid inverters in Nigeria and emphasised that its products are designed to meet the specific needs of local consumers.
Zinox’s product portfolio includes smart boards, personal computers, tablets, desktops, monitors and point-of-sale systems. Through its iPower brand, the company also manufactures renewable energy solutions such as hybrid inverters, solar panels, lithium and tubular batteries, MPPT solar charge controllers and solar street lights. Its iTEC division produces generators, while its consumer electronics line features AI QLED smart televisions, microwave ovens and rechargeable fans.
Partners at the event attested to the durability and reliability of Zinox products, urging increased awareness of locally manufactured technology as a viable alternative to imported brands.
With TD Africa’s distribution capacity now supporting Zinox’s product range, the companies said customers and partners across the continent would benefit from improved access to innovative solutions. The collaboration will also promote flexible models such as Just Own It (JOI), Technology as a Service (TaaS) and Product as a Service (PaS), aimed at making technology more accessible and affordable.
Industry observers say the partnership represents a significant step toward strengthening indigenous manufacturing, expanding market reach and reinforcing Africa’s capacity to produce and distribute globally competitive technology solutions.
