The 2026 Oscars award will hold on Sunday, March 15, 2026, with Nigerian-British actress Wunmi Mosaku among this year’s nominees.
Mosaku earned a nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Sinners, making her one of the notable names with Nigerian roots in contention at this year’s Oscars.
Also nominated for Sinners are Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo. Jordan is in the running for Best Actor, while Lindo secured a nod for Best Supporting Actor.
Mosaku joins a competitive field as Sinners, directed by Ryan Coogler, and Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another emerge as two of the films leading this year’s race for major awards.
The 98th Academy Awards is scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 15, 2026, with Conan O’Brien returning as host.
